Goodbye Pretty Shoes; Hello Old Age

(Cue Patty or Selma Bouvier voice) I have a bunion. Not only that, but a touch of plantar fascitis . As part of my new (yes, new) initiative to take better care of myself, (and thus, get back to walking regularly) I went to a podiatrist. My feet are now taped up and I’ve been directed to throw away all my high-heeled, pointy-toed shoes and to buy some good athletic shoes and some comfortable, reasonable dress shoes. I’m avoiding surgery here, so it’s critical that I follow directions, so
