Running without running shoes

This summer I read Born to Run: The hidden tribe, the ultra-runners, and the greatest race the world has never seen by Christopher McDougall and loved it. It’s a great story, plus a real eye-opener. I’ve always hated running since it hurt my knees. But I’m now running since I learned a different running style (this running on ice video did it for me) and that running shoes are part of the problem.
