Sales of so-called barefoot running shoes have taken off. In fact, a number of top shoe manufacturers like Nike and New Balance are coming out with their own versions but a local physical therapist warns these shoes aren’t for everyone.

Set to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Chain of Shoes on May 7, 2011, Shoeman Water Projects will line up 60,000 shoes at Mizzou’s Stankowski Field. The not-for-profit group sells donated shoes to developing countries and uses the procedes to purchase water well digging equipment to bring water to Kenya and Haiti. StorageMart donates storage space to Shoeman Water Projects for this event and other local shoe drives.
